Greetings Nina,

Thanks for the kind words and insights on the value of live help. As founding CTO of InstantService, I can recount many meetings with AT&T, Qwest, Nordstrom and others during our first year -- each ending with prospective customers telling us, "We believe our customers prefer to call us in our contact centers [disconnect from their dial up Internet connection], and chat is free." Times have certainly changed.

Congratulations on bringing a talented team and proven technology into your family. It is an honor to merge with ATG.

Kind regards,
Damion Hankejh

Interesting comments, thanks. In addition to the 3 customer issues you raise (which are all valid ones), I also see an urgent need for greater emphasis on analysis of visitor behavior after users arrive at a website - how and why they do what they do. In my experience, it's visitor behavior within a website (and the resulting number of successful conversions) which is a key driver to measurable success for that site - and in particular incremental revenue.

I was at that conference and could not agree more with Cid. She clearly understands what drives business online... the CUSTOMER.

Customers need assistance to get over the steps that hinder them from making a purchase, and I see huge value in Click to Call. I don't understand why this is not on every site. It will be on mine.

Ratings and reviews are a great tool for retailers. BUT online ratings and reviews lie.

There are four key ways in which they can be dishonest, you can read about them here: <a href="http://blog.freshnetworks.com/2009/03/the-lies-behind-online-ratings-and-reviews/" rel="nofollow">ratings and reviews lie</a>
